Write your first prompt

A practical lesson with an example you can adapt.

A prompt is a request with enough context to make the task clear. Start with the action you need, add the input, and describe the output. A role can help set perspective, but a role alone does not explain the job.

A vague request

Write something about my business.

A more useful brief

Write a 120-word introduction for a new neighborhood bakery. Address local families, use a warm tone, mention only these facts: fresh bread daily and takeaway service. End with an invitation to visit.

Try it yourself

Rewrite the example for your own project. Replace the audience, confirmed facts and requested output. Compare the answer against those requirements and improve one element at a time.
