SMART PROMPTS ACADEMY

Be detailed, not repetitive

A practical lesson with an example you can adapt.

A detailed instruction gives constraints, examples and a completion criterion. Repeating “excellent, professional, amazing” does not define quality. Describe what a useful answer must contain and what it must leave out.

A vague request

Write an amazing professional email.

A more useful brief

Write a follow-up email under 90 words about the proposal sent on Monday. Ask for a 15-minute review meeting. Use a courteous tone; do not assume acceptance or invent a meeting time.

Try it yourself

Rewrite the example for your own project. Replace the audience, confirmed facts and requested output. Compare the answer against those requirements and improve one element at a time.
